Types, Causes and Solutions for Psoriasis

Psoriasis develops when the life cycle of the skin cells is speeded up, causing them to die and build up on the skin surface too quickly. The over-production of skin cells cause red, scaly patches on the skin, making it itchy and painful. Psoriasis has well-defined, thick, red and scaly patches. The patches appear on the elbows and knees, as well as face, buttocks, palms, soles and scalp. These are the differences observed in  eczema cases, when compared to psoriasis: - The skin is less inflamed. - The skin is sometimes scaly, but can also be oozing or crusty. - There may be swelling or dark, leathery patches. - Eczema tends to appear in crooks (or inner parts) of knees and elbows. It also appear on neck, wrists and ankles. - Eczema is more commonly associated with children. - The itching is more intense.
